Abstract

The webinar entitled “Optimizing Learning for Children with Special Needs in East Java” was organized in response to the need to improve the quality of education for children with special needs (ABK) in East Java. This activity aimed to provide educators, parents, and education professionals with insights and practical strategies regarding the importance of inclusive and adaptive learning approaches for children with special needs. The webinar involved speakers with expertise in inclusive education, educational psychology, and child development therapy.

The materials presented focused on effective learning methods and media, curriculum adjustments tailored to individual needs, and the importance of collaboration among schools, parents, and the wider community in supporting the holistic development of children with special needs. Through interactive discussions and knowledge sharing, participants gained a deeper understanding of both the challenges and potential solutions in implementing responsive and inclusive education programs.

The results of this webinar are expected to enhance participants’ awareness and competence in developing inclusive learning practices and to encourage the implementation of a holistic, child-centered educational approach based on the individual needs of each learner. This activity contributes to strengthening inclusive education initiatives in East Java through capacity building and collaborative engagement.
