Penguatan Peran orang Tua dalam Meningkatkan Pendidikan Karakter pada Anak Usia Dini
Keywords:
parental role, character education, early childhoodAbstract
Character education in early childhood is a fundamental foundation in shaping a generation with noble character, discipline, and responsibility. Parents serve as the first and foremost educators who play a crucial role in the success of children’s character development. This article aims to analyze the strengthening of parents’ roles in enhancing character education for early childhood, particularly through modeling, habituation, guidance, and positive communication. This study employs a qualitative method with a literature review approach by examining various theories, books, and previous research relevant to the topic. The findings indicate that active parental involvement in accompanying children at home significantly influences their character development, especially in the aspects of religiosity, discipline, honesty, responsibility, and social care. Conversely, lack of parental attention may hinder the process of moral value internalization in children. This study also emphasizes the importance of synergy among family, school, and community in supporting the success of character education. Thus, strengthening the role of parents is not only essential in accompanying children’s learning process but also in ensuring the development of children with strong character who are ready to face future challenges.
