Upaya Meningkatkan Prestasi Belajar IPS dengan Model Pembelajaran Picture and Picture Siswa Kelas IV SDN 2 Kauman Kecamatan Kauman Ponorogo

Improving student learning achievement, especially in Social Sciences (IPS), is an important challenge in education in Indonesia. One model that can be applied to overcome this problem is the Picture and Picture learning model, which uses pictures as a tool to improve student understanding. This study aims to explore the effect of implementing the Picture and Picture model on the social studies learning achievement of grade IV students at SDN 2 Kauman, Ponorogo. The method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with a cycle design consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through tests, observations, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study showed a significant increase in student learning achievement, with the average student score increasing by 23 points from the pre-test to the post-test. In addition, this model also succeeded in increasing student involvement and participation in group discussions and presentations. The conclusion of this study is that the Picture and Picture model is effective in improving student learning achievement and participation in social studies learning. Suggestions for further research are to examine the application of this model in other schools with different characteristics and explore the use of technology in improving the effectiveness of the Picture and Picture model.
