Pengaruh Penggunaan Buku Bergambar Terhadap Peningkatan Kemampuan Bahasa Anak Usia Dini Di KB Dahlia Magetan
Keywords:
Picture Books, Language Skills, Early Childhood EducationAbstract
This study aims to examine the effect of using picture books on improving the language skills of early childhood children at the Dahlia Kindergarten in Magetan. This study used an experimental design with a quantitative approach. The sample consisted of 30 children divided into two groups: an experimental group exposed to picture books and a control group not exposed to picture books. Data were collected through pretests and posttests measuring children's vocabulary, speaking skills, and story comprehension. The results showed that the experimental group experienced significant improvements in all three aspects of language skills after being exposed to picture books, while the control group only showed small, insignificant improvements. These findings indicate that picture books are effective in improving vocabulary, speaking skills, and story comprehension in early childhood. This study supports Piaget's and Vygotsky's theories of language development, which emphasize the importance of social and visual stimulation in children's language learning. It is hoped that the results of this study can contribute to the development of visual media-based learning methods, particularly picture books, in early childhood education.
