Hubungan Perhatian Orang Tua Dan Motivasi Belajar Dengan Hasil Belajar Matematika SDN Munjung
Keywords:
parental attention, learning motivation, mathematics learning outcomes.Abstract
This study aims to determine the relationship between parental attention and learning motivation on students’ mathematics learning outcomes at SDN Munjung. The background of this research is based on the phenomenon of low student achievement in mathematics, which is presumed to be influenced by limited parental involvement and insufficient learning motivation. This study employed a quantitative approach using a correlational research design. The population consisted of 72 fourth- and fifth-grade students. Data were collected through parental attention questionnaires, learning motivation questionnaires, and documentation of students’ mathematics scores for the odd semester of the 2023/2024 academic year. Data were analyzed using the Pearson product-moment correlation test and multiple linear regression analysis.
The results revealed that parental attention has a positive and statistically significant relationship with students’ mathematics learning outcomes (p < 0.05). In contrast, learning motivation did not show a statistically significant relationship with mathematics learning outcomes (p > 0.05). Simultaneously, parental attention and learning motivation contributed 6.5% to the variance in students’ mathematics learning outcomes. These findings indicate that parental attention plays a crucial role in supporting students’ academic achievement, whereas learning motivation requires a more comprehensive pedagogical approach to exert a significant influence. This study recommends strengthening collaboration between schools and parents, as well as implementing instructional strategies that enhance students’ intrinsic motivation.
