Abstract

This study aims to develop an English for Communication learning module for vocational students using the Integrated Performance Assessment (IPA) model and to evaluate its effectiveness in improving students’ English communication skills. In the era of globalization, English proficiency has become essential in the workplace, particularly for vocational graduates who must meet industry demands. The IPA model integrates interpretation, interaction, and presentation into an authentic, performance-based assessment that mirrors real workplace communication tasks.

This research adopts the Research and Development (R&D) method based on the Borg and Gall model, including the stages of planning, product development, testing, and revision. The results are expected to produce a module that is relevant to workforce needs and effectively enhances students’ communication skills, as evidenced by improved test scores and positive student responses. This study contributes to strengthening vocational English learning by providing a practical, industry-oriented learning resource aligned with professional communication standards.
