The use of inappropriate learning models can reduce the effectiveness of learning and hinder students’ learning outcomes. Interactive and varied learning activities, including outdoor learning, have the potential to enhance student motivation, which in turn contributes to improved academic achievement. This study aims to: (1) examine the effect of the outdoor learning model on science learning outcomes, (2) determine the influence of learning motivation on science learning outcomes, and (3) analyze the interaction between the outdoor learning model and learning motivation on science learning outcomes of Group A students at TK Handayani Plaosan.
This research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design with a pretest–posttest nonequivalent control group. The population consisted of 141 students of Group A, while the sample included 21 students in the experimental class and 20 students in the control class, selected using purposive sampling. Data analysis involved normality and homogeneity tests, independent sample t-tests, two-way ANOVA, and Tukey post hoc tests.
The findings reveal that: (1) the outdoor learning model has a positive and significant effect on students’ science learning outcomes, (2) learning motivation positively influences students’ learning outcomes, and (3) there is a significant interaction between the outdoor learning model and learning motivation in improving science learning outcomes of Group A students at TK Handayani Plaosan.
