Abstract

Water pollution due to industrial wastewater has become an increasingly critical environmental issue, particularly regarding inadequate wastewater treatment. Rivers, which serve as sources of clean water and natural ecosystems, are often used as disposal sites for industrial waste, leading to environmental contamination. Various industrial wastewater treatment technologies, including physical, chemical, and biological treatments, have been applied to reduce pollution levels. However, despite the effectiveness of some technologies in removing certain pollutants, significant challenges remain, especially in managing persistent pollutants such as heavy metals and hazardous chemicals. This study aims to evaluate the impact of industrial wastewater treatment on river water quality by reviewing existing treatment technologies and providing recommendations for improving their effectiveness. This study suggests the development of more environmentally friendly technologies and the implementation of strict policies in industrial waste management, as well as the importance of further research for sustainable solutions.
