Implementasi Vlan Multi-Segmen (Guru, Siswa, Lab, Tamu) Pada Jaringan Sekolah
Keywords:

School computer networks that accommodate diverse user groups, including teachers, students, laboratories, and guest users, require structured management to ensure security, efficiency, and service quality. One effective approach is network segmentation using Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) technology. This study aims to implement and evaluate multi-segment VLANs within a school network environment to enhance performance and strengthen access security among user groups. The research employed an applied experimental method supported by simulation, including VLAN topology design, router-on-a-stick configuration, and comparative network performance testing before and after VLAN implementation. The evaluated parameters consisted of throughput, latency, and access isolation between network segments. The findings demonstrate that multi-segment VLAN implementation reduces broadcast domains, improves data traffic efficiency, and enforces access restrictions based on predefined network policies. Furthermore, network segmentation simplifies administrative management and enhances security by clearly separating internal and guest access privileges. Therefore, the implementation of multi-segment VLANs provides an effective, secure, and structured solution for improving network management practices in school environments.
