This study is to describe and analyze the effectiveness of number puzzle media in improving the competence of number concept recognition in students aged 4-5 years in Magetan District Kindergarten. Using a qualitative approach, this study focuses on understanding phenomena holistically and contextually, by examining the learning process and student responses. The data collection process uses triangulation methods. Participatory observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis was carried out in a qualitative descriptive manner, following an interactive analysis model that included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing that were systematically verified. The results of the study qualitatively indicate that the implementation of the number puzzle media has proven to be effective in improving the competence of number concept recognition. Students show increased interest and enthusiasm, become more active in putting together puzzles and matching quantities with number symbols. Educators report that this media helps students visualize abstract concepts into more concrete. Parents/guardians also confirmed that there was an increase in students' curiosity and confidence in arithmetic in the home environment. It was concluded that the number puzzle is an effective and innovative means to stimulate the understanding of number concepts at an early age.
