Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of experimental methods in improving science learning outcomes of grade V students of SDN Kraton 6. The learning outcomes of science students who tend to be not optimal are the background for the implementation of this research. The research design uses a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental approach. The research sample involved two groups, namely the experimental class taught using the experimental method and the control class taught using conventional methods. Science learning outcome data was collected using validated objective tests. Data analysis was carried out by independent t-test to compare the average learning outcomes of the two groups. The results showed that there was a significant difference in science learning outcomes between the group of students who were taught using the experimental method and the group of students who were taught using conventional methods. The average value of science learning outcomes in the experimental group was higher than in the control group. These findings indicate that the experimental method has a positive and effective influence in improving the science learning outcomes of grade V students of SDN Kraton 6. Therefore, experimental methods are recommended as one of the alternative learning strategies to improve the quality of science learning at the elementary school level.
