Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the improvement in short-distance
running learning outcomes through a play-based approach in seventh-grade students. This type
of research is classroom action research (CAR), conducted in three cycles. The instrument used
was a short-distance running test. The subjects of this study were 16 seventh-grade students.
The data analysis technique used was descriptive statistics with percentages. Based on the
research results, the average achievement in the Short-Distance Running test through the playbased
approach for seventh-grade students was 64.58 in the first cycle, 71.87 in the second
cycle, and 80.2 in the third cycle. These results indicate an improvement in the short-distance
running learning outcomes through the play-based approach for seventh-grade students
