This study aims to explore the implementation of the Role Playing method in Civic Education (PKn), specifically in enhancing students' understanding of the concept of joint decision-making. The Role Playing method was chosen for its ability to increase student engagement, develop social skills, and encourage deeper comprehension of the material being taught. This research uses a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design with two cycles, involving grade V students of SDN 1 Purwosari. Data were collected through pre-test and post-test scores, questionnaires assessing students' attitudes towards the Role Playing method, and observation sheets documenting students' activities during the lessons. The results showed that the implementation of Role Playing significantly improved students' understanding of joint decision-making, as evidenced by a notable increase in pre-test and post-test scores. Questionnaire data indicated positive student responses to the method, with improvements in engagement, satisfaction, and conceptual understanding. However, several factors that hindered success were identified, such as limited social skills among some students and their lack of readiness in performing assigned roles. Based on these results, it is recommended that teachers provide more intensive guidance and create a supportive environment during the Role Playing activities to enhance the effectiveness of the learning process.
