Abstract

The rapid development of information and communication technology has significantly influenced educational practices, particularly in the development of learning media. Multimedia-based instructional media can enhance learning effectiveness, improve instructional quality, and increase student engagement. However, many teachers, especially in areas with limited technological access, still face challenges in designing and utilizing multimedia-based learning materials. This study aimed to conduct training for teachers at SMAN 1 Sampung Ponorogo to enhance their competence in developing interactive multimedia learning media. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and questionnaires administered before and after the training to assess participants’ understanding and skills. The training focused on the use of accessible multimedia software, including PowerPoint, Camtasia, and Adobe Spark, to create interactive presentations, instructional videos, and digital learning modules. The findings indicate a substantial improvement in teachers’ technical skills and pedagogical awareness in integrating multimedia into classroom instruction. Participants also demonstrated strong enthusiasm for technology-supported learning innovation. This program is expected to serve as a practical model for other schools in implementing multimedia-based learning to promote more innovative and engaging educational practices.
