This study aims to identify and analyze the factors affecting elementary school students' learning motivation in the subject of Natural Science (IPA), considering both internal and external factors. The research was conducted at SD Ronowijayan in Magetan, Indonesia, during September–October 2021. The importance of learning motivation as a driving force for students' academic success, particularly in the challenging subject of IPA, was highlighted. A quantitative descriptive approach with a correlational design was used, involving a purposive sample of 30 fifth-grade students. Data were collected using a validated and reliable Likert-scale questionnaire (Cronbach’s Alpha = 0.874). Multiple linear regression analysis was conducted using SPSS version 25. The results revealed that both internal factors (interest, curiosity, intrinsic motivation) and external factors (teacher's teaching strategies, learning media, parental support, and learning environment) significantly influenced students' learning motivation. Internal factors had a regression coefficient of 0.312 (p = 0.000), while external factors had a regression coefficient of 0.421 (p = 0.000). Together, these factors explained 64.2% of the variation in students' motivation. The study concludes that enhancing internal factors, such as interest and curiosity, along with optimizing external factors, can improve students' motivation in learning Natural Science.
