Keywords:

Inclusive education is an educational system that provides equal learning opportunities for all students, including those with disabilities and students with special intelligence or talents, to learn together with their peers in a single educational environment. This study aims to examine strategies for optimizing the implementation of inclusive education in schools within Bendo District through a literature review approach. Data were collected from various sources, including peer-reviewed scientific literature, government policies, and reports on field practices related to inclusive education.
The findings indicate that the optimization of inclusive education requires strong synergy among several key components, namely teacher readiness, the availability of accessible and supportive infrastructure, and adaptive school policies that accommodate student diversity. The main challenges identified include a shortage of Special Education Teachers (Guru Pembimbing Khusus) and unequal levels of understanding and commitment toward inclusive practices among school stakeholders. These constraints often hinder the effective implementation of inclusive education at the school level.
This study concludes that optimizing inclusive education demands continuous professional development for classroom teachers, particularly in handling students with special needs, as well as consistent policy support and collaboration among schools, local governments, and communities. Such efforts are essential to create a sustainable and truly inclusive school ecosystem.
