This study aims to describe the educational service model for children with special needs who experience physical disabilities at Blora Special Needs School (SLB Blora). Children with physical disabilities require individualized and adaptive educational services to support optimal learning and functional development. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. Research subjects included the school principal, special education teachers, and other relevant stakeholders. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using qualitative procedures consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation.
The findings reveal that the educational service model at SLB Blora is implemented through individualized educational planning, adaptive and functional learning implementation, and evaluation focused on students’ academic achievement and functional skill development. Supporting factors in the implementation of educational services include teacher competence, collaborative practices within the school, and commitment to meeting students’ individual needs. However, several challenges were identified, including limited educational facilities and infrastructure, as well as variations in the level and type of students’ physical disabilities.
This study concludes that individualized and adaptive educational service models are essential for supporting the learning and functional development of children with physical disabilities. The findings are expected to contribute to the improvement and development of more effective educational services in special schools.
