Early Childhood Education (ECE) plays a crucial role in stimulating children’s creativity as part of holistic development. Creativity in early childhood is closely related to children’s ability to express ideas, explore materials, and develop imagination through meaningful learning experiences. One form of art activity that is highly appropriate for early childhood learners is finger painting, as it allows children to freely express ideas using their fingers and colors without rigid tools. This study aims to analyze the role of finger painting activities in enhancing early childhood creativity at TK Trate Mas Maospati. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study design. The study was conducted at TK Trate Mas Maospati, Magetan, involving early childhood learners and classroom teachers as research participants. Data were collected through structured observations of children’s participation during finger painting activities, in-depth interviews with teachers, and documentation of children’s artwork and learning processes. The data analysis was carried out using interactive analysis techniques, including data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the learning process and its outcomes. The findings reveal that finger painting activities contribute significantly to the enhancement of children’s artistic creativity. This improvement is reflected in children’s originality of ideas, flexibility in using colors, variety of visual expressions, and increased enthusiasm during learning activities. In addition, finger painting supports the development of fine motor skills, hand–eye coordination, and emotional expression, as children are able to convey feelings and ideas more confidently through visual art. Teachers also reported positive changes in children’s engagement, self-confidence, and willingness to experiment creatively during classroom activities. The study concludes that finger painting is an effective and meaningful art-based learning activity for enhancing artistic creativity in early childhood education. Integrating finger painting into PAUD learning practices can support children’s holistic development and provide a conducive learning environment that encourages creativity, exploration, and self-expression. Therefore, it is recommended that early childhood educators consistently incorporate finger painting activities into art learning programs to optimize the development of children’s creative potential.
