Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of process-based learning on students' critical thinking skills at Kraton 1 Elementary School, Magetan. Process-based learning is an approach that emphasizes the importance of stages in learning activities, where students are encouraged to actively engage in each step of the learning process and solve problems systematically. Critical thinking skills, which include analysis, evaluation, and synthesis of information, are expected to be improved through this approach. This study used an experimental design with a quantitative approach, with the sample being fourth-grade students at Kraton 1 Elementary School, Magetan. Data were collected through critical thinking skills tests administered before and after the implementation of process-based learning. Data analysis was performed using a t-test to determine significant differences between pre-test and post-test scores. The results showed that the implementation of process-based learning had a positive effect on improving students' critical thinking skills. This was evidenced by the significant difference in post-test scores compared to the pre-test, indicating that students were able to develop critical thinking skills after participating in process-based learning. This study recommends that teachers further integrate process-based learning into the curriculum to encourage the improvement of students' critical thinking skills at the elementary level.
