Reading Interest, Learning Achievement, Academic InfluenceAbstract
This study aims to examine the effect of reading interest on civics learning achievement of grade V students of SDN Manjung, by considering the importance of reading interest in improving academic results, especially in the subject of Civics Education (PKN). The urgency of this study lies in the role of reading interest in supporting students' understanding of the civic values taught. The main objectives of this study are to analyze the effect of reading interest on civics learning achievement, identify factors that influence students' reading interest, and explore the relationship between reading interest and students' ability to understand civics material. This study uses a quantitative design with survey and observation techniques. Data were collected through a reading interest questionnaire and civics achievement test, which were then analyzed using the Pearson correlation test and linear regression analysis. The main findings indicate a positive and significant relationship between reading interest and civics learning achievement, where students with higher reading interest tend to have better achievement. This study makes an important contribution to understanding how reading interest can function as a driving factor in students' academic achievement, especially in civics. In conclusion, increasing students' reading interest can play a significant role in improving their learning achievement. Further research can explore other factors that influence learning achievement, such as teaching quality and parental support.
