Abstract

This study analyzes farmer group strengthening in improving agribusiness business independence in Suratmajan Village. The research focuses on institutional capacity, farmer group functions as learning classes, cooperation forums, production units, and the ability to manage input, production, marketing, and financing networks. A descriptive qualitative case study was conducted from September 8 to October 8, 2022. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, focused discussions, and document study involving farmer group administrators, active members, village officials, agricultural extension workers, and local market actors. Data were analyzed through condensation, display, conclusion drawing, triangulation, and SWOT analysis. The findings show that business independence is shaped by leadership quality, administrative order, member participation, market information access, financial literacy, partnership capacity, and collective learning. The recommended model integrates governance strengthening, business planning, simple financial recording, joint marketing units, agribusiness entrepreneurship training, and multi-stakeholder partnerships.
