Analisis Kelayakan Usaha Tani Cabai di Indonesia: Kajian Pustaka

Chili farming is one of Indonesia’s strategic agricultural commodities due to its economic value and its role in stabilizing food prices. However, profit margins are influenced by several factors, including market price fluctuations, production costs, productivity levels, and seasonal conditions. This study aims to evaluate the business feasibility of chili farming in Indonesia through a systematic literature review. A total of 15 peer-reviewed journal articles published between 2020 and 2025 were analyzed using financial indicators such as the Revenue–Cost Ratio (R/C Ratio), Break-Even Point (BEP), and net income. The findings indicate that most studies report chili farming as economically feasible, as reflected by R/C ratios greater than 1 across various regions. Nevertheless, feasibility levels vary depending on planting season, chili varieties, scale of production, and input cost structures. Seasonal variability and price instability remain significant determinants of profitability. The study highlights the importance of cost efficiency, proper production planning, and market-oriented strategies to enhance farmers’ income sustainability. These findings provide an evidence-based reference for policymakers and agricultural stakeholders in strengthening the competitiveness and resilience of chili farming in Indonesia.
