Abstract

This study aims to analyze the utilization of instructional media and educational technology in inclusive education through a qualitative literature review approach. Inclusive education requires learning systems that accommodate diverse student characteristics, including students with special educational needs. In the era of digital transformation, instructional media and educational technology have strategic potential to enhance accessibility, participation, and overall learning quality in inclusive classrooms. This study reviewed peer-reviewed articles published between 2021 and 2025 from reputable academic databases. The selected studies were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify trends, benefits, and implementation challenges. The findings reveal that assistive technologies, digital learning platforms, and interactive media designed based on Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles significantly improve student engagement and academic outcomes for learners with diverse needs. However, several challenges persist, including the digital divide, limited technological infrastructure, and disparities in teachers’ digital competence. Effective integration of educational technology in inclusive settings therefore requires supportive institutional policies, sustainable professional development programs, and strategic planning grounded in inclusive principles. This study provides a comprehensive synthesis of recent developments and offers recommendations for strengthening technology-enhanced inclusive education practices.
