Problems Learning, Social Studies Learning, GlobalizationAbstract
Globalization accelerates changes in values, norms, and culture in society. Social studies teachers must be able to teach material relevant to these changes, but often lack the support of resources and training. This study aims to determine the problems faced by teachers facing the era of globalization in social studies learning in elementary schools and how to deal with these problems, so that education in Indonesia can produce future generations who are ready to face global challenges. This study uses a qualitative research method with a literature study approach. Data sources consist of national and international scientific journals. The data collection process comes from Scopus and Google Scholar focusing on relevant journal literature related to the process of learning social studies in the era of globalization, challenges faced by teachers, and strategies to overcome challenges in learning social studies in elementary schools. Data analysis focuses on the main problems that arise in various references. The results of this study indicate the need for educational policies to ensure that students are prepared to become good citizens and actively participate in the global community. Challenges faced by teachers include: cooperative learning influences social learning, teacher competence in the use of technology in learning, project-based learning improves students' computational thinking, and elementary school teachers' attitudes towards project-based learning. Therefore, there is a need for strategies to improve continuous training, reform the curriculum with an in-depth learning approach, and improve educational infrastructure as the main solution.
