The Influence of Groundwater Level, Calculation of Foundation Bearing CapacityAbstract
Groundwater level is a significant factor in determining the bearing capacity of foundations. Changes in groundwater level can affect the stability and safety of building structures. This study aims to analyze the effect of variations in groundwater level on the bearing capacity of foundations based on analytical and empirical approaches. The method used involves simulating changes in groundwater level and calculating bearing capacity using the Terzaghi and Meyerhof methods. The results show that a decrease in groundwater level significantly increases the bearing capacity of foundations, while an increase in groundwater level reduces it. This study provides technical recommendations for foundation design in areas with fluctuating groundwater levels.
