Abstract

One of the ways to create student achievement during the teaching and learning process is the application of cooperative learning. STAD type cooperative learning is one of the simplest types of cooperative learning, where in this learning students are easier to handle and find difficult concepts if they discuss the problem with their friends. At SD Negeri Kedoyo 2 in learning science, teachers often use the lecture method. This method cannot generate student activity in learning. This can be seen from the behavior of students who tend to only listen and take notes on the lessons given by the teacher. Students do not want to ask questions let alone express opinions about the material being studied. Seeing this condition, the researcher tried to find another method, namely the discussion method. Students are divided into groups of 3-4 people.

On the basis of the background of the problems described above, the authors formulate the following problem: How to Increase Learning Achievement in Science in Plant Parts through the STAD Cooperative Method for Fourth Grade Students at SD Negeri Kedoyo 2, Sendang District, Tulungagung Regency, Semester I 2019/2020. This study (Classroom Action Research) was held with the aim of knowing the objective description of the Improvement of Science Learning Achievement in Plant Parts through the STAD Cooperative Method for Fourth Grade Students of SD Negeri Kedoyo 2, Sendang District, Tulungagung Regency, Semester I 2019/2020.

Based on the results of the discussion above, it can be concluded as follows: The application of the STAD Cooperative method in science learning In Grade IV students of SD Negeri Kedoyo 2 can improve student learning achievement seen from the increase in learning outcomes tests which have increased from before the cycle: 70.87 cycle I : 78.26 and cycle II: 89.57 with the percentage of student learning completeness classically at 100%. The application of the STAD Cooperative method is very effectively used in science learning the Plant Parts material for Class IV students of SD Negeri Kedoyo 2 Year 2019/2020 Semester I.
