Karyuni Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Team Group Tournament Untuk Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Bahasa Inggris Materi Menyusun Teks Report Pada Siswa Kelas IX-F SMPN 4 Ponorogo
Abstract
Writing is a linguistic activity that plays an important role in the dynamics of human civilization. Through writing activities, people can also benefit for their development. Unfortunately, in English lessons at SMPN 4 Ponorogo, there are indications of a decline. One of the things that can be considered as the cause is the lack of good variety of teaching. Therefore, this PTK was held. The purpose of this study was to determine: (1) The improvement of student learning outcomes after the implementation of the Team Group Tournament learning model in Class IX-F students of SMPN 4 Ponorogo Even Semester 2015/2016 Academic Year (2) How does the Team Group Tournament model learning method affect the activity learn English classically in class IX-F SMPN 4 Ponorogo in the 2015/2016 academic year.
This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 4 Ponorogo in the even semester of the 2015/2016 academic year which lasted for 2 months with 3 cycles. The results showed that learning with the Team Group Tournament model had a positive impact on improving student learning outcomes which was marked by an increase in student learning mastery in each cycle, namely cycle I (61.76%), cycle II (76.47%), cycle III (94 ,12%). Likewise, the application of the Team Group Tournament model can improve student learning activities as indicated by the score of observations showing an increase in the percentage of student activity, namely cycle I (23.53%), cycle II (73.53%) and cycle III (91.18) . Thus, students who are taught using the Team Group Tournament Learning model, KBM is better when compared to the lecture and assignment techniques, and the percentage of complete learning is higher than those who do not use the Team Group Tournament Learning model.
